This episode focuses on exactly how to make PLAN A work. How to make your BIG goals work, the ones that are too big for most people. They are outrageous, rebellious, probably irresponsible & sound impossible to most people. And it starts with killing your plan “B”.
- Backup plans make sense, they are the “smart choice” and why you shouldn’t always follow the smart choice.
- How Plan B is just a distraction from the things you want most.
- How this isn’t about having a plan at all. It’s about following your purpose.
- Stop wasting time, money & energy on things you don’t want.
Oh & I talk about how we live in a society of dream crushers & the walking dead.

what is up rebels and thanks for joining me on another fucking awesome episode as always, I am stoked to be recording this or I wouldn't be doing it. I want to get right into this one because I woke up with this overall sense of like, I need to talk about this. I need to talk about these plan B's, these backup plans, this stuff that we put on the back burner, it's like, oh, if I fail, I've got this.
So today we're going to talk about killing that backup plan. We are not here for backup plans. We are not here for plan B's and don't get me wrong. Having a plan B or having the strategic backup plan is a good idea. It makes sense. Your whole life you've probably been told. It's a great idea by your teachers, your professors, your Cubs scout leaders, or girl scout leaders.
Most likely your mom or your dad or somebody who raised you.
Because plan B's makes sense. Because plan A's, they're not really a plan, they're just it. They are the biggest dream you can think of. Right. A true plan a is not a plan at all. It's just your purpose. It's your life. It's your mission. It's why you're here.
And to many people, it's way too big of a plan, way too big of a thought. It's conceded. It's unrealistic. It's woo-hoo. It's out of this world. It's unattainable. At least that's what we're told. Fuck, we are told that we are told that we should always have a plan B because plan a is too big of a dream.
We live in a society of dream crushers. And I am not about that. And I don't know about you, but I just don't have time for it. My plan A takes up too much of my time for me to think about a plan B. Or think about the people who want to crush my plan, A. And I imagine you're the same or you wouldn't be here.
So the people that are filling your head with these ideas and have filled your head with these ideas your whole life, probably cared about you. Some of them may be not, but at least most likely they cared about you and they wanted what was best for you. And so they told you to have a plan B so that you don't fail.
But, people who don't truly believe in plan A's are lacking that vision, they're lacking the dreams, they're lacking that drive to make plan A happen. And that's why plan B must exist to them.
Plan B is too good of a, plan that it distracts from plan a, if you want us to talk about a plan C one, that fucking sucks. And so it makes plan a way more of like a goal that makes sense. But plan B is usually too good of a plan that it makes it not that big of a deal if you fail at plan A. And that's why most people do when they have a bunch of backup plans, they don't do it. And then they still live a fine life and they're okay. But they're bored.
And if there's one thing you take away from this it's that if people are telling you not to dream big, Or that you're dreaming, too big.
It's because they can't see clearly. Their vision is clouded. It's cloudy as fuck. And yours is not.
Look, we all die. Right. This is a known fact. We all die on this earth, but the people that don't chase their dreams. They're already the walking dead. They've already given in, and they're not chasing what they really want in life.
The apocalypse is here people. And it starts with giving up on your fucking dreams. So stop. Thinking. That plan B is the answer. Because it's not.
Plan B is going to be the reason that you don't reach your goals.
When you truly follow your purpose, like your purpose. Don't get me wrong. I can't tell you what your purpose is. You gotta figure that out on your own, but if you don't follow it, That drive that purpose, that reason for being.
Then plan B makes sense.
But if you are following it, your purpose. Your goals, your big, big, big, big, big dreams. Then that's just it. Period. End of story. That is the plan, the whole plan. Plan A, B, C, D E F G. It's all of that because that's all there is in your life is following this. There's no such thing as failure. It just is.
It just is, that's all there is, it's meant to be, and it will happen. Not, it might happen. Or hope it happens. It will happen.
Now if you're looking for reasons to not put your time and energy and money into plan B's.
Just think about how much you're taking away from your plan A. When you focus on. Backing it up with something else, right. You're literally taking energy that you can be dedicating to your true goals and pushing them into something that you don't really want. What the hell is the purpose of that, to play it safe?
If you're already an entrepreneur, you're not playing it safe. So why start here? You've already started to rebel against the conventional norms and what you've been told your whole life. And, there's no reason to play it safe now. You're already playing it pretty big. You've already taken the road less traveled. So you might as well go all the way.
Don't waste your time, your energy and your money. Don't waste it on this plan that you don't really want.
If you want something you have to put... you into it, that means putting your heart and your soul and your mind and your energy and your time and your resources and everything that you have into it. It's not going to just happen. It's not going to just show up on your door with a fucking big fat check and a, and a knock. Hey. Hey, your big goal is here. No, it doesn't work like that.
So you have to take everything that you want.
And everything you dream of and put it as a priority.
Not a maybe. It just is.
And so your brain doesn't really know the difference between reality and not reality, right? Inside your brain. They're just thoughts. All of it. So, if you're allowing a plan B to take up this space in your brain.
You're taking away from the space of your goal.
And you're making it a lot easier to not succeed. Because if you don't succeed at your plan A or your main plan or your goals, and you have this like backup thing ready for you to go. When you don't succeed in plan A you're just like, okay, it's not that big of a deal who cares? Right.
So you're literally giving yourself excuses before you've even started.
And this is a scary fucking journey. It's not easy. It's not for the weak hearted. It's not a simple, straight route. It's going to be ups and downs and confusing, and there's going to be some doors that close and you're going to have to find different ways through that door. If you still want what's on the other side.
It's not a door closes and another one opens, it's if I want what's on the other side of this fucking door, I'm going to crash directly through the door.
Because doors close all around us.
That doesn't mean we still can't get what's on this other side of it.
I don't know about you but as an entrepreneur, I am way too busy for a backup plan. My mind doesn't have time for that. I've got a million things. You've got a million jobs. You're everything. Especially when you first start out, you do it all. Most of it alone. And then you start realizing that you're more powerful with support.
Which is for another episode, but you've got so many things on your mind and you're a visionary and you're a creative person and you are literally, you're creating your life. And so all of these thoughts and all of these tactics and these amazing things coming out of your brain, doesn't leave any space for a plan that you don't really want. You need to be more precious with your energy and more precious with your time.
And more precious with your resources and your money and what you actually dedicate your time to. So don't dedicate your time to something that you don't really want.
It's a waste, it's a waste of your brilliant brain.
So now I want you to get out there.
Grab your day by fucking balls. Make it yours.
And make plan A, your only plan.
